Beach Ripples

Walking along a beach is a great place for finding interesting images. It always varies from tide to tide. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, f45 @15 seconds. Limited Edition: 300

Byron Bay Lighthouse, New South Wales

This lighthouse is perched on top of Cape Byron which is Australia's most easterly point. I sat here waiting a long time before I could take this photograph without any people walking through the scene. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .6 ND filter, f22 @1 second. Limited Edition: 300

Crashing Wave

When looking through the camera's eye piece I was drawn by how the rocks lead the viewer's attention towards the incoming wave. Nikon D2x, polarising filter, f22 @2seconds. Limited Edition: 300

Apostles, Ocean Road, Victoria (SOLD OUT)

The drive along Ocean Road has much to offer when taking landscape photographs. I was in favour of the flat overcast lighting which helped bring out the details usually hidden by dark shadows. Nikon D2x, 5 images stitched, .6ND filter, f22 @4 seconds. Limited Edition: 25 (SOLD OUT)

Wreckage Beach, Ocean Road, Victoria (SOLD OUT)

This rugged coastline has claimed many ships throughout history. This anchor adds impact to the image and is a testimony of the tragic past along this coastline. Nikon D2x, 3 images stitched, .6ND filter, f22 @1/4 second. Limited Edition: 25 (SOLD OUT)

Brisbane, Australia

This photo was taken from Kangaroo Point on a summers evening. The city was once again preparing itself for a nights display of thunderstorms which frequent the place on a regular basis. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .9 ND filter, f22 @2 minutes. Limited Edition: 300

Park Bench, Melbourne, Australia

The mood createded within this image was due to the bizarre weather Melbourne was experiencing at the time. The weather was brooding with strong winds and storms threatening. I like the elements of the empty seat and walking track giving a feeling of desolation. The ships beacon helps deliver hope and refuge through the uncertain, ominous weather. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .6 ND filter, f22 @1 second. Limited Edition: 300

Wollongong Light, New South Wales

I liked the way this light house sat out on the edge of the break wall. To make this an interesting image I had to wait until the sun had completely set leaving a beautiful afterglow cast across the easterly sky. I stopped the camera right down to give a particularly long shutter time allowing the choppy windswept waters to appear smooth and silky. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .6 ND filter, f45 @2 minutes. Limited Edition: 300

SS Maheno, Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia

Itís always great to share experiences with the company of family and friends when taking images. Dan along with his big 4x4 and off road experience was vital in navigating us around Fraser Island. After setting up my camera, we sat back drinking a beer waiting for the best lighting conditions for this photo. Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .9 ND filter, f45 @2 minutes. Limited Edition: 300

Hill Inlet, Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia

Apparently Hill Inlet and Whitehaven beach is one of the most photographed destinations in Australia! Fotoman 617 with Schneider 90mm, Fuji Provia ISO 100, Centre filter, .6 ND filter, f45 @1 second. Limited Edition: 300

Tacking Point Light House, New South Wales

Storms were lashing the coast for days bringing high seas, strong winds and heavy rain. I was looking for a position to take this image with reasonable shelter from the prevailing winds and crashing waves spraying the coast with water. A slow shutter speed has been used to create movement in the passing storm clouds waiting to wreak havoc further down the coast. f22 @15 seconds, Fuji Velvia 6x17, ISO 100. Limited Edition: 300

Cape Byron Light

A super cell storm was threatening the coast with widespread panic of torrential rain and heavy hail. Fortunately it was downgraded to a hectic thunderstorm which certainly cleared the atmosphere and tourists alike from Cape Byron enabling me to get this super clean bright photo. I sat in the car waiting for the heavy rain to pause, then found myself running into position with a beach towel over my head ready for the next storm. I love the tones in the clouds brooding a dark storm over the ocean. Iíve visited Byron Bay countless times over the years enjoying the weather and surf and will never tire of the place.
