A trip to Japan had a lot to see and offer. Amazing food, bright colorful lights, tall buildings, fast trains and millions of people weaving in and out from what appeared to be a smooth and orderly fashion. Japan proved to have many interesting places to explore for taking images. It was a real challenge photographing this destination being in complete contrast to where I live and what I see most commonly. I found an interest in the busy way of life people live here and the cities they live so I set out to photograph the people and their 'Urban Landscapes' to which they were surrounded by.

Australia Gallery

It's such a huge country. The only way to see Australia is by car. Travelling throughout Australia is not purely the destination, but also what can be seen and visited on the way. I have had many great experiences photographing and visiting Australia's northern states and territories. Firstly, the weather always seems a bit warmer, the surfing is good and there is always somewhere new to visit by exploring its many side roads. I have been lucky in seeing a few of the amazing attractions Australia has to offer which would please most photographers. I still get excited at the thought of seeing and photographing more amazing places in Australia that would most likely take a lifetime to see all of.

Europe Gallery

I have been fortunate enough to visit Europe on a few occasions. The things that interest me most about travelling European countries is the large mix of culture throughout all the separate countries, its people in these countries and the nature of its many old familiar and not so familiar buildings. Walking along cobblestone streets, grabbing a hot drink in a café, watching interesting people and taking photographs makes many European countries fun. Many times I have been asked where to visit in Europe for taking a vacation and I simply say, 'It's all worth a look and has something for everyone'. I do happen to mention a trip up the chairlift to Mt Pilates in Switzerland is a real treat, drinking beer in one of Munich's many beer halls is great for a thirst, floating around in the canals of Venice will always be remembered or nothing can really prepare you for the feeling of walking into Moscow's Red Square for the first time. I know there are many more places to visit in Europe and the only advice I can give to others and take for myself is just to go over there, see it for yourself, and make your own mind up as to how amazing the place is.

Arrive at airport, clear customs, collect bags and load into a motor home. It's as easy as that. A real bonus was that people drive on the same side of the road as back home. Reflecting back on my first trip to New Zealand?s South Island still leaves me in awe at its diverse and breath taking scenery I encountered. I found the best way to see the country was to grab a road map, draw a big circle around the island covering the places I wanted to visit and start driving. A lot of people have always commented to me after seeing New Zealand that it reminded them of my home state of Tasmania. After seeing for myself I had to disagree to this as I found New Zealand to be a land of its own. Its towering pointed snow capped peaks, wide glacial river systems, majestic sounds and rugged coastlines really made New Zealand its own. Having seen just a glimpse of the South Island, I feel that more time on another trip is necessary to help capture another glimpse of its beauty.

North America Gallery

North America is a place I have visited on a few occasions and feel that I will continue to visit many more. The first of my visits was a road trip across state which certainly gave me a taste of what can be seen here. Eating smoked ribs in Montana, winding my way south through the Rockies, driving across a very flat Kansas with nothing in sight but everything to see, listening to music in Memphis and gazing the skyline from the Empire State Building in New York; North America had much to offer. I found this trip a truly rewarding experience and felt a second trip to North America was sure to happen. This trip did eventuate as I had much desire to see and experience the most northern state, Alaska. Alaska really did leave an impression with its amazing scenery, wildlife and is a must for any person with an interest in the true outdoors. A stop in the Wrangle St Elias National Park really left its mark with its staggering rugged snow capped peaks, sweeping glaciers and its feeling of isolation to the rest of the world.

Travelling far north within European countries has been a must for a long time. Having seen imagery of Iceland on previous trips to Europe sparked my interest in visiting this island in particular. I did my research before leaving my home state, Tasmania, finding out what parts of Iceland would best suit my interests from a photographic angle. aving seen these points of interest in person I can honestly say that all my expectations were exceeded by far. The grand scale and beauty cannot be wholly captured by photographs alone. Some of the greatest memories of Iceland were waking up and leaving the tent to be standing in front of Lake Jokurslon with its drifting icebergs, watching the ever changing moods in weather sweeping across the land known as Landmannalaugar, witnessing round the clock daylight and drinking nice cold Lava Stout. My only thought I have on Iceland at the moment is how fast I can get back over there to see the rest of the Island.

Tasmanian Land Gallery

I have been photographing Tasmania now for many years and I still get surprised at just how much of this state I haven't seen. At times I think to myself I have seen all there is to offer photographically here but there is always something new to see. Weather it's a familiar location with a different weather pattern passing over or an unexplored track leading to an unfamiliar landscape. Tasmania has many iconic landscapes such as Cradle Mountain and Wineglass Bay but there are many more rewards to be seen getting off the beaten track.

The more I travel overseas and return to this State the more I realise what Tasmania really has on offer. For such a small island Tasmania really has a lot of diverse places to visit within. Of the impressive sights to see in Tasmania are its many flowing waterfalls, pristine lakes and rivers, pounding rugged coastlines and its rich dense wilderness. A real advantage about seeing many of these sights is the fact that they are all so close together on this small island leaving more time for exploring and witnessing what makes this island truly unique from others.
